Someday Soon

Our home building has limped along through the holidays. It is fortunate that some events in our lives are totally unaffected by back orders, failed inspections, or worker no-shows. In stead of a finished home, I can report that we had an especially merry Christmas with family this year; Avery, our builder's baby was born on Christmas Eve five weeks early but in perfect health; and we celebrated a very happy 13th. wedding anniversary on January 1st. toasting in the new year with friends.

Now that the holidays are behind us the momentum has picked up. The septic system is installed and is waiting for landscaping. The power was turned on -- a big milestone. We've got heat and hot water now and the cabinets are finally complete. Our mailbox was delivered yesterday and today in 30 degree weather a guy with a jack hammer was installing the posts for our fence. You'll see from the pictures below that we are still missing some key details before move in day.

  1. Excellent photos. I'm missing you and Charles. Unfortunately, I've yet to get to any of his 3 favorite Sci-fi novels but hope to.

Our Wildflower Walk for 2010 is May 15.

  2. It is looking great!! How exciting. I can see the landscape full of native plants and grasses. That will go great with the modern house. Have fun!
